Examine social issues to help and support people in your community.
The Human Services degree program will prepare you to meet the challenges of today's diverse society that produce human services needs such as addiction, an increasing elderly population, poverty, abuse, and behavioral health problems.
You'll develop a broad, ethical, and empathetic understanding of the issues that face today's population and communities in terms of human services needs. The core courses of the Human Services degree program examine key areas of social and human concern, such as mental health services, social casework, social policies, and program planning and evaluation.
We also offer an Associate's Degree in Human Services that was recently selected by NewYorkSocialWorkEDU as an Editor’s Pick for the Top Associate Degree Programs for Future Social Workers in New York
Students earning the Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services can work in entry-level and some advanced positions within a variety of social services programs. You'll also be well prepared to go on to advanced studies. Additionally, students completing the Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services are eligible to pursue the Human Services-Board Certified Practitioner credential.

Earning the Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services will set you up to work in entry-level and some advanced positions with a wide array of social services programs.
Students in the human services program will complete either a 3.00 or 6.00 credit internship. Internships are typically through a social service program within the Elmira area.
